How to check grey scale stability of LCD TVs versus viewing angle

چکیده

Contrast and gray scale stability are important attributes in determining the quality of a liquid crystal display. For LCD TVs the influence of the viewing angle is especially important. In the present paper, we use a Fourier optics based instrument to measure the gray scale behavior of different LCD displays along most of their viewing angle. The measurements can be made in luminance, color or radiance. We show how to analyze such measurements and extract gamma parameters for all the incidence and azimuth angles to allow more critical comparisons.
